What is a "When I Grow Up" Session?

We love to tell stories and we think children have the best... "When I Grow Up" is a project we’re working on where we photograph your child and what they want to be when they grow up, in a stylized portrait, for free.

This project was born out of Matthew's love of creativity and his need to be making new artwork. He started this project several years ago for print competitions and he realized that some of the best ideas come from the minds of children. We put out a model call recently looking for some fun new sessions when we had over 250 people apply. We couldn't pick just one person, so we came up with these sessions as a way to let every child be what they want when they grow up.

Participation includes a free session, complimentary 8x10 print of the final artwork, and discounted prices on any additional products you’d like to order. In order to keep our schedule organized, we will only have "When I Grow Up" sessions on Mondays. Click the link below to schedule!

To get a full perspective of their magical interpretation, we’d like to interview each child 3-4 days before their scheduled session (in person, if at all possible). This gives us an opportunity to help in the costume design and helps us make appropriate background and posing choices. Costume and props from home are always welcomed.

For this type of session, we ask that each child is limited to one outfit. The sessions will be about 30 minutes long, in-studio, and your child will be photographed in front of a green screen. We will render the final product with an appropriate background during retouching. There will be only ONE final image of each child to view, which will be available 1-2 weeks following your session.

Once on the calendar, we will give you a call to discuss further details about your pre-session consultation.

Thank you for participating in our “When I Grow Up” project. We are excited to bring life to all of these fantastic ideas.
